Deaths attributed to domestic violence nearly tripled in King County at the start of the pandemic and we have seen no significant decline. Yet DV curriculum is an elective in most masters programs, leaving clinicians with some ambiguity when it comes to partner abuse. In this training, you will learn how to screen for DV in individuals, couples and families, and what treatments and resources are helpful and which are harmful.

Learning Objectives
  • Participants will be able to screen for DV in individuals, couples and families, learning the core framework of power and control.
  • Participants will learn basic safety planning and be able to identify appropriate referrals for a variety of needs.
