Join a Board Rooted in Compassion and Anti-Oppression Thank you for your interest in joining the Washington State Society for Clinical Social Work (WSSCSW) Board of Directors. WSSCSW serves an extremely diverse community of clinical social workers and clients and because of this, we strongly believe that the make-up of our Board of Directors should reflect the diversity of the field and community. This exciting opportunity will allow you to be part of a supportive board that places our ethics and training into action to build community, provide legislative advocacy, lead cutting edge training, inspire the next generation of social workers, and make impactful and lasting change across Washington state. The purpose of the WSSCSW Board of Directors is to provide thoughtful leadership that advances the board's strategic plan. Through the skills, talents, advocacy, networks, and ongoing contributions of the board and committee volunteers, WSSCSW is able to continue to make a positive and lasting impact on communities throughout Washington state. Who We're Looking For Successful WSSCSW Board of Directors are energized clinical social workers who are aligned in values with our mission. They are supportive of their peers and are successful in collaboratively working together to build WSSCSW's community and offerings. Eligibility Board membership is limited to Washington State clinical social workers who are members in good standing. Selection Process All members interested in joining WSSCSW's new permeant Board of Directors may submit their name to the Nomination Committee. The Nomination Committee will be working to gather a slate of eligible and interested members to participate in the upcoming summer election. Board Roles Board members meet once per month, plus an annual retreat. The president, president-elect, secretary, and treasurer are members of the Executive Committee. The Executive Committee meets outside of board meetings to follow through with projects that the board approves of. The Executive Committee provides the board with regular updates on projects and submits final project results to the board for approval.
