Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) is a 3rd Wave cognitive behavioral therapy that has a strong evidence base for treating the wide range of issues that families experience.  This transdiagnostic approach offers powerful tools for clinicians to use with anyone struggling with the human condition.  This training will incorporate an overview of the evidence base, theory, and processes that make up ACT and offer a number of experiential exercises that clinicians can immediately use with individuals and families.

Objectives

1. Understand the core processes that make up the psychological flexibility model.

2. Learn several ACT interventions that promote mindfulness, values, and resilience for the whole family system.

About the Presenter

Josh Cutler, LICSW has trained with Steven Hayes, PhD and Kelly Wilson, PhD co-founders of Act. He is currently developing a virtual counseling program that incorporates ACT as the primary treatment modality. Josh maintains a private practice in Seattle.
