Lisa Strub, WSSCSW President;

Lisa Strub MBA, LICSW, SUDP brings over 20 years of experience in the social work field. She has worked in the micro, mezzo and macro realms with various behavioral health organizations. Lisa is passionate about WSSCSW and she recently joined after relocating from Denver to Seattle several years ago. Lisa has much experience with executive and organizational leadership. And after learning about the status of WSSCSW, she decided to volunteer on the transitional board as co-president and on the permanent board as president of WSSCSW. She finds fulfillment in rebuilding and realigning organizations. Lisa is committed to volunteering her time to ensure clinical social workers have professional development opportunities and they are set up for success.

Tanya Ranchigoda, Past President;

Tanya Ranchigoda (she/her) is a 1st generation Sri Lankan, Canadian, American. Tanya is a clinical social worker and has been in practice for 25 years. She has been an adjunct faculty lecturer at the graduate School of Social Work, University of Washington since 2010. In addition to teaching, she maintains a small private mental health practice where she focuses on supporting individuals and families with adjustment to chronic/terminal illness, significant life transitions, grief and loss, and crisis intervention. She is the former clinical director for MEND, a low-fee counseling agency based in intersectional feminism and social justice work and was a pediatric oncology social worker for 10 years. Tanya also provides diversity, equity, and inclusion consultation to profit and non-profit organizations and organization development support. Tanya engages her personal and professional life through a lens of mindfulness, compassion, antiracism, and co-liberation. Tanya has been a member of the Washington State Society for Clinical Social Workers for over 10 years and served on the board as part of the ethics & professional development teams and co-president She is currently in the role of past president. She lives in Seattle, Washington with her partner and two children.

Stacey McFarland, Treasurer;

Stacey McFarland (she/her), MSW, LICSW, BCD graduated from the University of Washington School of Social Work. Early in her career she worked in Community Mental Health, becoming a State Certified Geriatric Mental Health specialist. She began working as a full-time psychotherapist for WellSpring Family Services's EAP and counseling cluster, and in 2004 started her private practice. Now she see patients both online and in-person in her Pioneer Square office in downtown Seattle. In addition to her work with the WSSCSW, she has also served on the boards of the Washington State Coalition for Mental Health Consumers and Practioners and the Northwest Alliance for Psychoanalytic Study.

Julia Kocian, WSSCSW Secretary;

Julia Kocian LICSW, MPH received a Masters in Social Work and a Masters in Public Health from Tulane University in 2014. She has since worked in prisons to facilitate community re-entry, in substance abuse treatment, as a volunteer crisis responder for survivors of sexual violence, and in community mental health. She became specialized in supporting medical professionals through post-graduate training, and now has a private practice where she sees individuals and couples with a focus on practicing physicians. Her approach to therapy is relational and practical and is rooted in Mindful Self-Compassion, Acceptance Commitment Therapy, Somatic Awareness and Mentalizing. She previously served on the WSSCSW Board as Legislative Chair from 2018-2020. When not in the office, she enjoys spending time with her husband and (twin) children and communing happily with the earth, water and snow.

Melissa Wood Brewster, WSSCSW Associates Co-Chair;

Melissa has maintained a private practice for over 20 years offering both therapy to adults and couples as well as supervision and consultation for clinicians. Her current role on WSSCSW's associates committee serves her passion for supporting new professionals in the field. In her practice, Melissa specializes in working with individuals who are Deaf or hard of hearing. She is also studying to be an integrative health coach and hopes to support mental health clinicians and other healthcare professionals in their own personal care.

Andy Ensor has experience working with adults struggling with anxiety, depression, and addiction. Andy meets clients where they are, collaborating together to develop a holistic plan to help find relief.

Ben Packard, WSSCSW Legislative Chair;

Ben Packard is a graduate of UW School of Social Work. Ben has worked in child welfare and as a clinician at Seattle Children's Hospital‘s inpatient Psychiatry and Behavioral Medicine Unit. Currently, Ben is a clinical instructor at UW and has a private practice focused on helping teens and families.

Ryan Petros, Professional Development Chair;

Ryan Petros, PhD, LICSW, is Associate Professor in the UW School of Social Work and co-chair of the clinical specialization for the MSW program. He has more than 20 years of research, teaching, and practice experience, specializing in interventions to promote recovery for adults with severe mental illness and substance use disorders. He found his practice “home” in community behavioral health and continues to promote high quality clinical services and evidence-based practices, particularly in those settings.

 Jamie Weber, Social Justice Equity Chair;

Jamie Weber, MSW, LICSW is a Yakama Native clinical social worker and supervisor in private practice at Kin River Healing, PLLC where they provide psychotherapy for youth, families and adults primarily navigating the impacts of trauma and its intersections with oppression and disability. In their private practice they also provide consultative and training services for organizations. They are an adjunct lecturer at the University of Washington School of Social Work, Seattle in both the MSW and BASW programs and have been a member of the Motivational Interviewing Network of Trainers since 2018.
