Awards & Recognitions
Outstanding Student Paper Award A part of our mission is to support and promote high standards of practice for those entering the profession. To this end we offer the Outstanding Student Paper Award to Washington State masters level social work students. Papers will be reviewed and scored by volunteer WSSCSW readers. For the strongest paper submitted we are offering a one year membership to WSSCSW, one year free entry to all Professional Development events, recognition at the annual gathering, and publication of their papers on the WSSCSW website. Entries must be directly relevant to clinical social work practice. Your paper or project may be a paper or project you wrote for a class. You can edit for brevity. Writing should be clearly and professionally written, well organized, and demonstrate appropriate grammar, syntax, etc. The paper should be in double-spaced 12 point font, no more than 10 pages long, and must conform to APA formatting standards. Each year the submission deadline is in the spring. Monthly Award Recognition This recognition honors a Washington State Society for Clinical Social Work (WSSCSW) member for outstanding contributions to our community. Candidates must be active WSSCSW members in good standing, leaders in our community, and demonstrate a strong commitment to service of WSSCSW. Annual Meeting and Conference Awards As the premier Washington state membership organization representing clinical social workers, the WSSCSW has a longstanding and proud history of recognizing leaders and stellar accomplishments in the field of clinical social work. WSSCSW has identified two awards distinguishing extraordinary achievement that are conferred at the WSSCSW annual meeting. We are proud to provide membership with on-going member recognition throughout the year. Candidates can be associates and LICSWs and must be leaders in their community and demonstrate a strong commitment to service. The two award categories are: Social Justice Award: A Washington social worker who excels at integrating social justice values into their clinical practice. Outstanding Leader of the Year Award: A social worker who's contributed their time, efforts, and thought to the community through community-building, social justice, and professional development. Winners of the awards will receive all of the items listed above, recognition at the WSSCSW annual membership dinner, and an engraved Glassbaby.
